During the 1990s, work began a Lexus variation of the Toyota Land Cruiser (J100), the LX (J100). The last plan by Hiroya Kitazumi was affirmed in 1995, with refreshes by Kitazumi endorsed in 2001 and 2004.[8][9] Testing was led from the mid-1990s till late 1997. In December 1997, the second era LX 470 appeared at the Los Angeles Auto Show, going at a bargain in the second quarter of 1998. It shared the floor plan and most body boards with the proportionate Land Cruiser, and contrasted in its front appearance and had a more extravagant inside. Outside plan contrasts incorporated a quad-headlamp forward belt with bigger grille and various wheels. It was controlled by a LEV-confirmed 4.7-liter V8 motor, which at first created 172 kW (230 hp), later moved up to 175 kW (235 hp), at that point 200 kW (268 hp). The last force esteem was 445 N⋅m (328 lb⋅ft). It was evaluated to tow 2,900 kg (6,500 lb) with the tow bundle introduced.
