Presented in 1996 as a 1997 model, the second-age Wrangler once again introduced the round headlamps from the exemplary Jeep models. The principle motor was the AMC 242 4.0L inline 6. From the Wrangler TJ onwards, all Wranglers were fitted with curl spring rather than leaf-spring suspension.

Late in the TJ’s life cycle, in 2004, a long-wheelbase “Boundless” model was presented unexpectedly. Moreover, beginning 2006, Israeli Automotive Industries Ltd. created the initial five-entryway Jeep Wrangler subsidiary, worked under permit from Chrysler, for the Israel Defense Forces, in light of a 2,931 mm (115.4 in) wheelbase Wrangler (TJ)
